Review: Riot (Predators MC #1) by Jamie Begley

Ice
As president of the Predators’ MC, my men and I are used to preying on the weak and those stupid enough to cross our paths. So why does a straitlaced teacher make me sit up and take notice when I see her for the first time?
The brothers all think she makes me weak, and believe me, weak in their eyes isn’t where I want to be. She wants me to prove she means more to me than the club, and when I fail, she thinks she can just walk away. She’s wrong. I’m a Predator, and nothing escapes me.

Grace
As a teacher, I’m supposed to want to educate those who want to learn, right? That’s what I believed until I was told I’d have to teach a class at the prison. I didn’t move to a town labeled as one of the safest places in America only to be faced with a bunch of Predators.
He expects me to trust him despite being the reason I’m trapped in the middle of a prison riot. His club means more to him than I ever will, and if I give him a chance, he will break the fragile peace I have managed to find. It’s not the first time I’ve had to escape a predator.

Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

This is the first book in Jamie Begley's newest series the Predators MC.  Violence is a way of life for the Predators.  They work for the new boss of Queen City and furnish protection for a price!  This is the story of the club’s prez, Ice and Grace the woman he claims as his.  We met Ice for the first time in Ms. Begley’s Tainted series. Many of our other beloved characters from previous books also make cameo appearances in this book.

Ice is the President of the Predators MC. He is a strong dominant alpha male that rules the club with an iron hand. Ice has been part of the club since his early teen years when he was rescued off the streets, sick, starved and almost dead from exposure. The club became his life and his brothers his family.  He had fought his way to the position he now holds and leads his club as the strongest member.  In Queens City, Ice and the club provide the protection for King's successor, Desmond. While completing a contract for Desmond, Ice and some of his brothers are arrested and sent to prison.  Ice has a plan in place to get them out of jail and that plan involves the teacher sent by the college to teach a computer class.  He was not prepared for the woman that walks into the classroom and takes his soul.

Grace is a professor at the local college.  She is forced to teach a class at the prison when the normal professor has an accident.  Due to her past, Grace struggles with this assignment.  Her demons haunt her but she manages to overcome those fears and goes to teach the inmates at the prison.  From the moment she sees Ice there is an undeniable connection that she cannot shake.  She becomes comfortable teaching the prisoners and is not prepared for the prison takeover by some of the inmates.  Ice and his brothers protect her from the other prisoners and the attraction leads to Ice staking his claim on Grace.

During the story there were moments when I wasn't sure how the story would unfold.  Would Grace and Ice become a couple?  Will Ice be able to protect Grace?  Can they survive the violence that surrounds them?  Is it possible for a lady and a brother find more?
