Review: Play Me #1: Play Me Wild (Play Me #1) by Tracy Wolff

In the seductive first installment of an eBook original serial from the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, a woman running from her past has finally found a bit of control . . . until her powerful new boss makes her go wild.

My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m on my own, in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . just the way I like it. Until Sebastian Caine changes everything.

Working as a cocktail waitress at one of Vegas’s hottest five-star casinos means putting up with a ton of bad behavior from the big spenders. But it pays the bills—and that’s all that matters to Aria, who needs every last dollar to escape from her father’s destructive grasp and the brutal man he expects her to marry. But when she lashes out against a billionaire who won’t take no for an answer, she nearly loses everything—until Sebastian steps in. The owner’s son and handpicked successor, Sebastian is dark, sexy, and kinder than any rich man should be. And when he apologizes and offers to keep her job safe, Aria can’t help the way her body reacts to his. Suddenly her job, and the security it brings her, isn’t the only thing Aria wants.

Play Me is an erotic serial intended for mature audiences. Aria and Sebastian’s story continues in Play Me: Hot.

Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆
Can a person ever really escape their past and leave it behind?  The bright lights of Vegas beckon those that want to find a piece of the action and also those that want to find a way out of the hidden underbelly of Vegas.  This is the first part of Sebastian and Aria’s story in the Play Me series by Tracy Wolff.

Aria had been trapped by her family and the demands that they tried to make on her and her future.  She manages to escape her family home and the stifling life her father wants her to be a part of; a life that would cost her, her very soul.  It doesn’t matter that she has lived a life of privilege and lacked for nothing materially because the cost of that life of privilege almost destroyed her.  Aria will do whatever it takes before she will ask for anything from her father, even put up with serving rich douche bags as a waitress.  She vows that she will not have anything to do with rich, powerful men!  However, she had not expected Sebastian Caine, her boss and a man that seems to be the exception to the rule.  Can she trust the feelings that are explosive and consuming?  When Sebastian steps in and backs Aria’s actions towards one of the casino’s whales, she finds it had to accept that he is being honest and doesn’t have a hidden agenda.

Sebastian has returned to Vegas after years of absence to assume his position as his father’s successor as owner of a large casino.  His views of running the business are different from his father’s ideas of how business should be conducted. Sebastian will not allow women to be abused or demeaned.  When a situation is called to his attention where one of his employees has to step in and stop a customer from being abusive to another customer, he is incensed at how it was handled. The employee is a woman and she was fired for stepping in to help the woman.  He is instantly attracted to her and he knows he will pursue this woman but first he has to get her back as an employee.

When the two finally meet face to face the air sizzles with electricity and heat.  Can Sebastian overcome her reticence and win her over?  Will Aria forget her promise not to get involved with a man like Sebastian?  How can she trust him?  Where will this attraction take them?
