Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

This is Book #4 in the Storm MC series by Nina Levine. The members of the Storm MC are still in disarray caused by their leader and president an evil, abusive, controlling man.  He has sunk to a new low and is pushing the club into illegal businesses and demoting his son, Scott from the VP position.  His other son, Blade is fighting to help his half-brother protect his club and both of their families from the father they both hate. When Blade meets Layla she helps to cage the beast inside him and soothes him at the same time.

His life has been one of betrayal and abuse.  Blade’s father was abusive to both his mother and himself.  He knew nothing but fist, verbal abuse and hardship from the beginning of his life.  His mother did her best to take care of him without any help, support or love from his father.  Blade became a hardened man caused by that abusive childhood. He was also haunted with nightmares after he lost his fiancĂ© when she was raped and brutally murdered. There is a darkness that is growing within that he constantly struggles against. His hatred for his father and his failure to protect the woman he loved is consuming him. For the year he had been visiting a bar where he had found a woman that called to him.  When he finally speaks to her, he finds he cannot stop thinking about her and wanting her. He decides that he will protect this woman and the past will not win this time!

Layla Reed is an independent woman that has learned to depend on no one but herself.  She is half owner of a bar that she has worked at for the last ten years.  Her partner skips out on her after stripping the club and bank accounts of all funds.  He also leaves owing a debit with some dangerous people that want their money. They decide that Layla should take care of his debit and if she doesn’t it will not be pretty. When a beautiful man steps in to help her, she is immediately drawn to him.  She can see the struggle within him and needs to help him find a way to release his demons. The more he is with her, the more she finds that she cannot deny that he may be hers.  Piece by piece she is unveiling the real Donovan, the man that has stepped into her life and is protecting her from the danger she finds herself in.

As Donovan and Layla’s relationship strengthens those that want to destroy them begin to circle closer.  His enemies are coming from all sides. The Storm MC needs him to help keep a drug lord out of their territory and at the same time get rid of his father’s destructive influence at the club. Will Layla be able to give Blade the love he needs to be free from his past?  Can he keep her safe from the evil that is hunting those he loves?  Will they both find a way to save each other? How can he protect the ones he loves?
