WOW…what an emotional roller coaster ride in this surprisingly intense second novel in the Deadly Sins Series by author Jennifer Miller. In Fighting Wrath, Ms. Miller addresses widespread social issues wrapped up in an MMA package. In Tyson and Sydney’s story we explore two broken souls searching for acceptance, reclamation and peace from their abusive past.
Tyson has always been the protector, the surrogate father, provider and sometimes just twin brother! His life has not been easy, but he has made it. He uses fighting to release the rage that lives just below the surface. Those that care about him and are trying to help him, have no idea what he is really going through. No one does, until he stares into a pair of big blue eyes and a connection is formed. Sydney pulls him and at the same time gives him something he has never had.
He is unlike any one I have ever known! From the moment I saw him, my world shifted. Secrets and distance from others are how Sydney has survived. Ensuring that those she cares about are taken care of is all that matters and she is willing to sacrifice to make that happen. Does she dare open up and share herself with Tyson? Will he be willing to accept those sacrifices and see the woman underneath?
The settings range from an MMA training facility to a book store and a risqué strip club! Each character created by this talented author enhances the storyline but also delves deeply into the essence of needed reforms and protections in our society. Characters introduced in the first book in this series flow through and interact within this next installment in the series. This is a must read that you will not want to miss!
