Review of Alien General's Chosen (Brion Brides #4) by Vi Voxley

This general doesn't play fair...

This is a 70 k full scifi romance novel featuring a BBW human heroine and a growly alpha male Brion warrior general. It can and should be read as a standalone and has a guaranteed HEA ending! Grab it now for 99 Cents for a limited time!

Leiya has a secret. Trouble is, even she doesn't know it. One of the most promising singers Briolina has to offer, no one could know that the bright star is actually a human, a Terran from Earth. But when the most dangerous Brion in the universe marks her as his own, Leiya has more than hidden secrets to worry about. She thought she was ready for the love of her life, but the general is far more than she could have been prepared for! And no one's supposed to deny their chosen... but what if she has compelling reasons to do so, even if her body can't fathom the idea?

Faren is not a simple man. Seemingly devoid of emotions, rational to a fault, he is a monster on the battlegrounds and his reputation far precedes him. But after losing his brother, the only demon who could match him, Faren is aimless. When the binding hits him like a spear to the chest, making him recognize the innocent, curvy Leiya as his true mate, he finally sees a glimmer of a purpose. A goal. Her safety, her heart, and her body.

He will have her, the right way, even if it kills him and everyone around him. Nothing could stop the Monster of Briolina. But it seems like the whole universe is going to try like hell, both to get him as well as kill the human woman he has sworn his heart to. The universe doesn't know the power of an alien general who can only be controlled by the woman he loves...

Will Leiya trust to love the man who is the epitome of everything she despises, or will fate have to make the decision for her?

Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

In Alien General’s Chosen, a science fiction romance, by Vi Voxley the reader is transported to another world, where survival of the fittest dominates the entire planet of Briolina and being different is considered an oddity.  Similarities are normal and encouraged.  It creates balance for the raging madness that can consumer a warrior.  As a young child parents groom their children for their livelihood before taking them to the council for a career selection.  Our fated couple searching for their chosen is Faren and Leiya and they are complete opposites!

Leiya is a bubbly singer who abhors fighting and bloodshed. She is different from other Brion’s and doesn’t understand why.  Faren is a general, one the fiercest warriors ever known.  Strength and dominance equals survival and respect.  The reception is an event for Brions to find their gerion and gesha.  Although fate can be fickle sometimes the gathering of so many allows a greater possibility of finding their mate and gives the chance for it to happen sooner rather than later.  She attends the reception looking for her gerion and also to entertain the masses with her songbird voice.

After the death of his twin, Faren needs his gesha, his other half to drive away the loneliness that has encompassed his world.  He is the twin that doesn’t react with emotions and analyzes actions before reacting.  His only friend, Diego encourages him to attend the reception and the unthinkable happens.  He meets his gesha and his life is changed forever.

This is the first book I have ready by Vi Voxley and it will not be the last.  I didn’t realize when I purchased it that is was part of a series, so it can be read as a standalone.  The storyline draws you in and the action along with unexpected happenings keep you interested until the end.  The plight of Faren tugs at your heart and has you wanting him to find some peace and happiness in his life.  This was a phenomenal read and I highly recommend it for anyone’s library!
