Love with a Perfect Cowboy (Cupid, Texas #4) by Lori Wilde

Melody Spencer had long-ago wiped the dust of Cupid, Texas, off her cute shoes . . . and done her best to forget the chiseled jaw and strong arms of cowboy Luke Spencer. Their families might be part of a long-time feud, but he was her very first love, even if it turned out they never wanted the same things.

But now Luke's come striding back into her life, tempting her with the memories of long, lazy evenings and hot, passionate kisses. And he has an ulterior motive—as Mayor of Cupid, he knows Melody's business savvy can help save their beloved hometown. His smooth talking might get her to Texas, but that doesn't mean he'll get her in his bed. Still, people do say love can be more perfect the second time around...

Overall Rating:  4 Rockin’ ★★★

"They'd been young together, suffered horribly together, survived and found each other again.  It felt like a miracle."

Love with a Perfect Cowboy is an awesome story.  A family feud lasting for the past 90 years in Cupid, Texas, fueled the unquenchable romance of this forbidden couple.  Taking chances and letting love thrive was very present in this story.  I laughed and yet felt desperate all at the same time for the duration of the book.  The characters were very well designed and I could imagine being apart of them, if not one of the characters.

Luke Nielson, the newest and sexiest mayor of Cupid, Texas, was in frantic need of a miracle.  His town was in dyer straights from a most unwanted drought, one the town had never seen before.  Trying everything he could think of, with his last resort (or maybe his most wanted resort) was asking his long ago lost love to come home and help their town in its time of need.

Melody Spencer left Cupid in hopes of bigger and better things and the desired love of a man she couldn't have.  Melody was a top executive at one of the most influential advertising agencies in New York City.  Imagine her surprise when she stumbles across the one man she has always held a candle for...Luke Nielson.  But the kicker was, he was a Nielson and she was a Greenwood-Fant.

Two families that hated each other from their ancestors broken promises of love; A modern day Romeo and Juliet with a country twist.  Could Luke and Melody find a way to bridge the feud of a century and bring love and promise back to their town of Cupid?  Will they love each other even though their families forbid it? With twists and turns and unexpected results, this story took me by surprise  It held my interest from the beginning and gave me a wonderful feel good tale of how true love can conquer all.  Excellent story, Lori Wilde, you piqued my interest!  GrÄ“ta

  1. One of my fave romance tropes is a second chance at love, Lori! I, myself, have benefitted from a second chance and we've been married for 35 years now. :-) I can't wait to read this latest story of yours. Thanks for the post. jdh2690@gmail.com
