Braith is a Prince of the vampire race. For some reason he is drawn to the bedraggled human that is being auction off as a blood slave. He claims her as his slave and takes her to the palace with the intention to use her as his personal blood slave. This human, however continues to intrigue him and he finds that he wants to keep her safe and learn more about her. There are rules that must be followed concerning blood slaves and it becomes difficult to adhere to them.
Aria cannot believe that she is at the palace with Braith. She feels like she is living on borrowed time, regardless of how Braith treats her. He is everything that she has been taught to hate and despise. Aria finds that she enjoys the relationship that they are forming and is horrified at her response to him.
