Review: Jared (The Protectors #2) by Teresa Gabelman

The VC Warriors are an elite group of vampire who protect innocents, whether human or those of their own race. Jared Kincaid, along with other Warriors, are shocked when a fiery red head with a gun and attitude, bring news of young teens being turned into an army of half-breed vampires capable of taking out all VC Warriors.

Breaking into the famed VC Warriors compound was definitely not the smartest thing Tessa Pride has ever done, but she will do anything for her brother, Adam. The Warriors held the one person she knew was responsible for her brother being turned into a half-breed and nothing will stop her from getting what she needs to help her brother, not even a Warrior whose eyes could make her melt with one look.

Jared and Tessa join forces in a desperate scramble to find who is responsible. With a war between Warriors and half-breeds brewing, suspicions of traitors in their midst put the lives of everyone involved on the line.

Overall Rating:  4.25 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

This is the second book in Teresa Gabelman’s, the Protectors series.  It continues to tell the story of vampires living with humans in a world gone wild with friction between the two species.  Tessa and Jared come together in this story to fight against an evil that is trying to change the fragile balance of cooperation between the two species.

Tessa is drawn into the vampire world when her brother Adam is taken captive by rogue vampires and made into a hybrid.  She helps Adam storm the VC compound to take their prisoner, a vampire that has answers to how Adam was changed.  Everything is going according to plan until she meets Jared.  The air is filled with the electricity that sizzles between them, but she is there to help her brother and nothing else matters but saving him.

Jared cannot believe his eyes! A human and a hybrid vampire have infiltrated the compound to take a VC prisoner!  The feeling he experiences when he meets the female is not something he is familiar with. She makes the air sizzle around them.  He cannot read her and when they take the prisoner he is determined to hunt her down.

When Jared finds them, he is not prepared for what he finds!  Adam is not the only hybrid living with the human female.  The story she has to tell does not bode well for vampires or humans.
