Review: Crush (Bayonet Scars #4) by J.C. Emery

Young love is always perfect. Until it's not.

Cheyenne Grady is a total daddy's girl to her bad-ass father, the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club. She's funny, and kind, and she just wants that deep, earth-shattering love like her dad has with her school secretary, Holly. But Cheyenne's been looking in the wrong direction, because the only good that can come from the way she looks at Jeremy Whelan is a lesson in heartbreak.

Jeremy always wanted to prospect for the Forsaken Motorcycle Club and wear the same patch as his father. When a life-long dream becomes reality, Jeremy realizes that the outlaw lifestyle is not for the faint of heart. Nor is it easy on relationships. He wants to be a good man, but temptation is everywhere.

Cheyenne is beautiful, and strong, and exactly what Jeremy could have forever. As long as he doesn't screw it up.

Love is never more powerful than the first time.

Overall Rating:  4 Rockin’ ★★★★
Crush is the fourth book in the Bayonet Scars series by J. C. Emery.  Life as a family member of the Forsaken Motorcycle club is not easy and it is even harder for a prospect.  This is the story of two young lovers that meet as teens and grow up together as part of the MC world.

Cheyenne has lived her life as part of the Forsaken MC protected by her father the Sergeant-at-Arms for the club. When you are an only child and you have only your tough as nails father to raise you, you maybe a little spoiled.  She has been raised to be strong, self-sufficient and independent.  During her final year of high school, she finds herself interested in Jeremy Whelan, a heat-break in the making.

His father had worn the Forsaken MC patch and Jeremy wanted that for himself. With his father in prison that left his sister to raise him and provide for them.  High school was not where Jeremy wanted to be and he knew he made it hard on his sister! When his sister becomes a member’s old lady, things began to look up.  Especially, when his sister’s man, Duke takes Jeremy under his wing and begins training him.  Jeremy wanted to be a prospect for his father’s MC and would do whatever was needed to become part of the club. Things change when he and Cheyenne become more than friends but his dream stays the same…be a member of the Forsaken just like his father and keep his girl.

Will Cheyenne and Jeremy get their HEA?  Can he convince her father that he is worthy of his daughter? Will they survive the war that is coming to the club? Jeremy is the one for Cheyenne and she is what he wants forever.  Only time will tell if they both get what they want…each other!
