Review: The Flip by Michael Phillip Cash

Julie and Brad Evans are house flippers. They buy low, clean out the old occupants' junk, and try to make a profit. Enter Hemmings House on Bedlam Street in scenic Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island. In this unique stand-alone by author Michael Phillip Cash, the reader is introduced to the art of flipping houses.  Only this house flip that should have gone smoothly, turns into a ghostly mystery set in a Victorian mansion on Long Island and comes with its on pair of ghost that don’t want to leave!  Prepare yourself for an amazing read that will leave you asking, what will happen next?

How hard could flipping a house be for a married couple that does this for a living?  Harder than you think especially when the house you plan to flip has resident ghost that are up for causing trouble. Julie and Brad Evan purchased the old Victorian Mansion at a really good price and see dollar signs dancing in their heads!  Their job is to purchase properties at a low price, clean it up, get rid of the previous owner’s belongings and then sell for a profit.  The newlywed couple knows something is wrong when things start to go wrong. Julie falls in love with the place but her husband Brad is really unsettled about it!

The ghostly inhabitants want things to stay the way they are and start making their desires known.  Tessa and Gerald lived and loved during the 19th Century.  Gerald loves Tessa with an everlasting love, while Tessa has a wondering eye.  When she turns that wondering eye on Brad, things really start to deteriorate.  What will happen to Julie and Brad’s marriage?  How will they deal with the unwanted ghost and the unsettling mayhem they are creating? Read this fast pace, exceptional read to find the answers!

Would I recommend this book: Yes! This book has a ghost that acts like a whore and her ghostly lover, a mystery involving their presence in the mansion, a newly married couple trying to establish themselves and it’s just an enjoyable read!


Would I recommend this author: Yes! This was my first time reading a book by this author and I loved it! Mr. Cash created characters that make you want to know them and an intriguing plot that keeps the reader enthralled to the end!
