Renegade Lady (Renegade Sons MC #1) by Emily Minton & Dawn Martens

Jenna “Ice” Chandler grew up as part of a motorcycle club. She considered it her home, until one wrong move made it her prison. After months of abuse, she is rescued by Chipper, who takes her to Big Clifty, Missouri, home of the Renegade Sons MC.

Kiddrick “Kidd” Jones is the president of the Renegades. He knows there is something special about Ice the moment his older brother, Chipper, brings her into the club, but stays away, because she is too young.

When time comes for Ice to take her place in the club, she has two choices, become an old lady or a club whore. Not believing in love and knowing a man can never be faithful, she decides to earn her spot on her back.

With each passing year, Kidd's feelings for Ice grows and the urge to make her his becomes stronger. Frustrated and jealous, he finally decides it’s time to make her his.

Will Ice finally thaw out and give love a chance, or is Kidd fighting a losing battle?

WARNING: Renegade Lady contains adult situations some readers may find offensive. This is a raw and gritty story involving explicit sex, graphic language, violence and drug use. Not intended for readers under 18.

Overall Rating:  4.25 Rockin’ ★★★

The Renegade Motorcycle Club was founded in the 1979s after returning war veterans decided they no longer could remain "normal" citizens. Beware. This story is intense. It is not sweet or pretty and at times it is extremely brutal. I recommend this book if you are looking for a gritty, heart-pounding, soul-stomping, rip your gut out body read. This is the story of two people that have to work to find each other against heavy odds. Jenna has been given to an abusive member of the Mateland Renegades Chapter by her father at the age of sixteen.  She has no hope of escaping this life other than through death.

“What I’m telling you is that Timmons is claiming you.  You’re his old lady now.  There’s nothing you can do to change it.  Best start listening to him if you don’t want to be hurt,” he states matter of fact. “

“Chipper" a member of the ruling Renegades Chapter is sent to check on the Mateland Chapter of the MC because drug deliveries are not making it to California for distribution. What he finds happening there is horrific.  He immediately tries to right the wrong and claims the abused Jenna as his daughter. He takes Jenna into his home and his wife Mindy becomes a mother to the broken girl.

He turns to his wife.    “Mindy, can you take her and find some clothes, clean her up, and get a room ready for her?  Make sure it’s close to my old room.  I got a lot of things to talk to Pop about, so we’ll all be sleeping her tonight.  But tomorrow, she’ll be coming home with us.”

Jenna and "Kidd" are immediately drawn to each other.  Kidd feels a connection with Jenna even though she is only 16 years old and he knows it is wrong. He realizes that he will have to wait until she turns eighteen and then he will can her as his old lady.  Jenna feels safe and comforted by Kidd’s friendship.

“Even though she looks like she’s had the shit beat out of her, her eyes unsettle me…there’s just something about them.  Something that calls to me in a way that I don’t understand."

Kidd knows that he must wait for Jenna and he has to keep himself away from her until the time that he can claim her.  So he is sent to the Mateland MC to get it back on track.  His stay runs for almost two years until he finds out that his brother’s wife, Mindy is dying, he knows he must return home. Kidd does not return home by himself.  He returns with a woman that has begged him not to leave her behind.  It doesn’t help that he has been sleeping with her to keep from dwelling on his feelings for Jenna.  Mindy gives Kidd a warning not to hurt Jenna.

Mindy’s eyes nerk to mine and stern look crosses her face.   “She’s nearly eighteen.  You got a little while before you can go there.  When you do, it better be for more than just a quick ride.  I won’t be here then, but I can guarantee that I will come back and haunt your ass if you hurt my girl.”

This is the beginning of the end for Jenna and Kidd.  Jenna feels betrayed and refuses to accept Kidd as her Old Man.  Why trust him?  He’s just like all men, not worth believing.  It will be Kidd’s job to break through the walls that Jenna “Ice” builds around her heart.   He will have to work for it and only time will tell if she will forget the past and look to the future.
