Kristopher “Kris” Harmon has spent most of his adult life infiltrating the Mexican Cartel. He was recruited right out of college and had worked his way up to a place of power. As an undercover agent it was vital that he stay in character, keep away from any family or personal involvement so that he can keep those he cares about safe and he can do his job. Everything changes for Kris when his eyes meet the eyes of a beautiful red head across a crowded room. The attraction is powerful and instantaneous for both of them. But Kris is on a mission to retrieve a woman that is tied to the drug business and there is no time to be distracted.
Tessa is a good girl that has worked hard all her life to have a safe home. She has worked three jobs to put herself through school and to make a place in the world where she can belong. She had never known her father and her mother had died leaving Tessa alone in the world. Finally she had saved enough money to buy her own home and go visit her best friend in Mexico. At the last minute her roommate decides to tag along without an invitation and Tess is leery having Heather go with her on the trip. She wants to celebrate buying her first home and visit with her BFF not babysit Heather.
Everything goes crazy when Heather insists that they go nightclubbing and she will not listen to Tessa about the dangers of two women go off alone in Mexico. They are ran off the road and kidnapped by members of a drug cartel. As hard as Tessa fights to save herself and Heather she is still captured and separated from Heather. What she cannot believe is the man that had knocked her sideways with a look across the room is in charge of the kidnappers and she is still attracted to him. Kris cannot believe that Tessa has been kidnapped! That was not part of the plan and his men had really messed up the job he was supposed to complete. His job now is to keep her safe and alive if possible, finish his mission and get them both out of an impossible situation. Can Kris accomplish his mission? Save Tessa? Would I recommend this book: Yes! An undercover agent sent in to infiltrate the Mexican Cartel, a beautiful woman that has ninja moves makes for a fascinating read with lots of steamy sex. Will they make it out alive, intact and together is the question you continue to ask as you read or lose it to the bad guys? Loved this book and the way the author captivates the reader with her what ifs.
Would I read other books by this author: Yes! This is an incredible author that I would read again and again could not put her book down until I finished the last page. Ms. Roberts has a distinctive style of writing that leaves you wanting more.
