~Review: Song Chaser (Chasers #2) by Kandi Steiner~

For more than a year, Tanner West has tried to shake his feelings for his long time best friend, Paisley Bronson. She was the perfect girl to fit the lyrics in all his favorite songs – the girl he had always wanted. When she fell in love with another man before Tanner had the chance to tell her how he felt, he was left with no resolve to find love again. Burying himself in school and easy girls has become his new lifestyle, but when Kellee Brooks shows up at his favorite bar, he begins to think there may be another verse to his song, after all.

Kellee Brooks moved to New York City for one thing: escape. Growing up in a small town where her entire life was planned out for her, she’s desperate to break free and find herself without following the same path as her mom. Kellee thought working at the local dive bar would mean more money for school, but when she meets the smoldering, scarred honey eyes of Tanner West, she finds there’s much more hiding in the smoky building than just a few tips.

With Paisley still haunting Tanner and Kellee vowing to save anyone the trouble of loving her, will the pain and fear keep them apart – or will they find a way to rewrite their song together?

Break free with this heartbreaking story of letting go and letting love in.

Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

Tanner West is in the Pediatrics Residency Program at NYU. His best friend and the love of his life had found her one true love and cut the ties that bound Tanner to her. He was sure that he would never see her again but Paisley would not let her best friend go and continued to call.  Tanner cannot let Paisley’s memory or friendship go and so he continues to drown himself in women and whiskey trying to forget.  Tanner loves music and every song he hears reminds him of Paisley.  How can you move on if the memories will not let you?  Nothing seems to take away the pain until one night at a bar with friends she asks, “Why won’t you sing?” and everything changes for Tanner.

Kellee Brooks is a working her way through college working part-time at a bar and a pizza parlor.  She left her family’s business in upstate New York to follow her dreams.  When Kellee sings that night at the bar, Tanner is entranced with her voice and feels that he could listen to her for the rest of his life.  This is the beginning of Kellee and Tanner’s journey towards a relationship that they are both fighting.  She doesn't trust easily and he still cannot leave his feelings for Paisley behind.  Will Tanner let go of his past and move towards a future with Kellee?  Will Kellee be able to build a trust in Tanner and allow her feelings for him to grow?  Read this book and find out if they find their song together!
