The father’s sins will be visited upon the children through the generations could be the focal point in this novel. This is a story of evil that spreads like a disease over the lives of the Callahan family and everyone that they love. It also tells of unrequited love that had to be kept a secret to protect a lover from a killer. This is a book that is filled with raw emotions. When you read it you will be gripped by fear, love and anguish for the author’s portrayal of her broken characters.
Amelia has dark secrets that she has hidden from every one for years. Her love for Crowe Callahan, the abusive marriage she was forced into and her father’s brutal punishments whenever she intervened on behalf of others. But her biggest secret may be the only one that can keep her sane and at the same time cost her the love of her heart, Crowe.
Crowe has as shielded his heart from the only woman he will ever love, Amelia. He knows that if it is ever found out how he feels about her death will come quickly for her. He has denied himself for seven years the woman that makes him complete. The only thing he has been able to do is stand on the outside and watch her from a distance. Would I recommend this book: Yes! This is not your typical love story; instead it is a fast paced, gritty tale of greed, violence and betrayal.
Would I recommend this author: Yes! Ms. Leigh writes everything from paranormal to military romance and everything in between. Her books appeal to a kaleidoscope of different readers and are sure to please even the most discriminating.
