Review: You Loved Me At My Weakest (You Loved Me #2) by Evie Harper

Emily
Broken, used and worthless.
They are the words that have been branded into my mind for the past five years.
Now freed, but they stole my smile and left me with only tears.
My dreams of the future died right before my eyes.
I'm fighting to find my way back, but I’m too weak.

Kanye
I won’t let her walk this road alone.
I’ll hold on for her. The dark can’t last forever.
Her heart beat keeps time for the rest of my life.
Our fate will not be denied or erased.
It will be beautiful.

“How great your love is for me.” I whisper.
“Forever Emmy.”

Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆
This book continues to tell the story characters introduced in Ms. Harper’s first book, You Love Me at My Darkest.  The words that keep running through the minds of our two main characters is to survive, stay alive, and don’t give up! It tells an unforgettable love story of two people that refuse to lose that love.

The only thing that kept Emily alive and sane after being kidnapped, knowing that Kanye would find her! They were high school sweethearts and their love was true and meant to be HEA. Emily had been held for five years by a demonic man, who sold her as a sex slave to the highest bidder over and over again. The abuse, rape and constant belittling had almost reached the point that where Emily wanted to die.  When she was rescued by Kanye and her brother, her scared soul and concept of herself caused her to withdraw into herself.  How can anyone love her now?  Kanye deserves better not a shell of a woman.

Kanye will not stop until he finds and rescues Emily because life is nothing without her!  When at last he finds her the devastation to his beautiful love is hard to bare.  She is shut off, pulled into herself and not willing to let him in.  How can he help her heal if she will not open up to the love they share?  Kanye never lost the belief that he would find his Emily and bring her home.  But now, he doesn’t know how to break through the walls surrounding her so that he can bring her back to the light.  Will the evil that separated them win? Or will Emily find the strong woman that she has always been?

Hero: Kanye   4.5 stars

Cliffhanger:  No

Would I recommend this book: Yes! This book will make you cry, laugh and then break your heart as the story unfolds.  It is a story of everlasting love and the beauty of that love that is filled with loyalty, support and need.  The expression of their love smolders between the two main characters in the simmering and intense sexual scenes.

Would I recommend this author: Yes! Evie Harper is an artist with her written words painting pictures of love, loyalty and the fight to survive for those that love.  When I finished this book it left me with the need to read more by this remarkable author!
