Review: Anew: Book One: Awakened by Josie Litton

In this erotic retelling of “Sleeping Beauty” set in the near future, a beautiful young woman awakens in the garden of a secluded palazzo with no knowledge of who she is or how she came to be there. For the man who walks out of the darkness to claim her, she is at once the ultimate challenge and the greatest temptation.

Haunted by terrifying memories of another existence, Amelia is caught between passionate desire for Ian and longing to discover her true self. Even as he is determined to possess her body and soul, Ian’s need to protect Amelia leads him into a confrontation with his tormented past.

Together, they face the challenges that lie beyond the sanctuary of the palazzo in the glittering world city on the edge of cataclysmic change. In the midst of sensual excess that conceals seething rebellion, Amelia and Ian will discover that love has become the ultimate threat to survival.

Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆
What would you do if you woke up and didn't know who you were, where you are, or where you came from?  Everything is a blank, except for a few glimpses of sexual need and arousal.  Those questions and more plague Amelia in Josie Litton's newest novel series, ANEW.

In this beautiful like-tale of Sleeping Beauty, the characters are exquisitely crafted to match the amazing story that is arranged skillfully by this author.  Amelia, being newly awakened, is lost in a society that she does not understand.  She is a gift to the new world in her own right, but many people cannot grasp who or what she really is.  Her only saving grace is the man who awakened her, Ian.  He invokes so many tumultuous feeling within her that captures her from the moment she sees him and won't dispel.  Ian, on the other hand, is seized by the immediate response his body and soul has towards Amelia.  He wants her deeply, from the core of his being.  However, with outlying forces at work he knows he must protect her, yet at the same time, keep her, control her, own her...

Will this couple be able to master the plan that has been set by Ian's dead friend?  Can they overcome the outside world's bitterness and short-sidedness and reach the greatest gift of all..love?  Read this book to find out.  It will not disappoint you!

From the very beginning this story will draw you into it's fantastical plot and keep you there until the very end.  I was imprisoned by the shear magnetism that the characters portrayed.  I was amazed by the story's message of how ignorant people can believe that different is bad, but we all know that being different is very good.  I absolutely cannot wait to read the next installment of this series, being that the author leaves us hanging on.  I'm on the edge waiting patiently for what will happen next.  You have awakened me, Josie!  ~TSRBR

Cliffhanger: Yes

Would I recommend this book: Yes!  No doubt.  This book has all the unnerving, sensual romanticism that a book can give and leave you wanting more.  ANEW is a beautifully scripted work of art.

Would I read other books by this author: Yes!  I love Josie Litton's creativeness.  She will capture you and keep you conquered in everything she writes.
