Review of Peyton 313 (Cyborgs: Mankind Redefined #1) by Donna McDonald

Worst epic fail of her scientific career? Falling for a cyborg she helped create.

Kyra Winters never meant for her cyber science discoveries to be used for evil, but that’s exactly what happened. Now returning Peyton 313’s humanity is the last chance she’ll ever have to atone. She can’t get back the lost decade, but she can change the present by restoring the cyborg who was once Marine Captain Peyton Elliot.

Certainly her grand plan for rectifying her mistakes didn’t include madly kissing the confused, passionate Marine when he begged her to. The same scientific mind that constructed the cyborg creator code now warned her not to let Peyton’s tempting offers of heaven cloud her rational decision making. Yet it’s difficult to resist the cyborg she’s restoring when he’s also the most intriguing man she’s ever known.

Overall Rating:  4 Rockin’ ★★★★

Military cybernetics, scientist battling over humankind and modifications done without conscious awareness, the Earth has won the war but lost its humanity.  Peyton 313: Book One of Cyborgs: Mankind Redefined by Donna McDonald is well written and has a storyline that is out of this world!  It's filled with espionage, futuristic science and of course forbidden love.

The Cybernetic Soldier Program was initiated when the government realized they were losing the war.  One of the two original creators, Dr. Kyra Winters is desperately researching a way to free the men and women that allowed their bodies to be altered for the betterment of their world.  When the United Coalition of Nations decreed the cyborgs were a menace to humans due to their robotic implants the soldiers were enrolled in the cyber-husbands or wives program and sold to the highest bidder.  Captain Peyton Elliot was among one of the soldiers that gave up his life for his country.  This is Peyton and Kyra's journey to their happily ever after.

The new world developed by this author is intriguing and has a new spin on Cyborg romance that I haven't encountered.  The book will keep you involved and entertained.  The characters are strong and guide you through the story.  With each turn of the page the plot thickens and you are left wondering how the hero and heroine will be able to find happiness.  Their lives are in constant peril and you never know if the programs used to control the cyborgs have been demolished or are still active.  The new beginning both are striving for seems out of reach but the author shows her creativity and you are left amazed and longing for more!
