Review of Denial (Careless Whispers #1) by Lisa Renee Jones

Book one in the CARELESS WHISPERS series. This is a standalone spin-off of the INSIDE OUT series (soon to be a TV show) that follows Ella Ferguson, Sara McMillan's best friend.

Ella Ferguson awakes alone in Italy, unsure of who she is, and a gorgeous man has claimed her as his own. He’s tall, dark, and sexy, with money and power, the kind of man who makes a girl want to be possessed. And he does possess her, whispering wicked wonderful promises to her, stealing her trust and her heart. Soon though, the past finds her, yanking her from a cocoon of passion and safety. Everything is not how it seems. The truth will shatter her world, but it can set her free, if it doesn't destroy her first.

Overall Rating:  5 Rockin’ ★★★★

Once again Lisa Renee Jones proves why she is a NYT bestselling author with the introduction of her new series Careless Whispers, an erotic romantic suspense.  Readers were introduced to Ella Ferguson in the Inside out series as Sara McMillan’s neighbor and best friend that disappears without a trace. This is the story of Ella being found by a mysterious, beautiful man and the beginning of their tumultuous relationship.  A relationship that is so convoluted that you will be totally enthralled and so ensnared that the cliffhanger will have you asking what just happened?  Denial is a must read for anyone that is looking for an exceptional novel that has everything!

Imagine waking and not remembering your own name or anything from your past!  Your first memories are of a pair of incredible blue eyes and for some reason a connection to the man they belong too.  You find yourself in a foreign country without any clue how you got there and hauntingly disturbing flashbacks about things that may have happened to you.  The only security you have is a man that swears he will protect and keep you safe from those that are trying to find you.  There are so many things that don’t make sense, but this man, yet Kayden Wilkens is the only reality in a blank world.

Kayden Wilkens is the Hawk, a leader of ‘The Underground’ an elite and dangerous organization that can find anything for a price.  He is the one that helps rescue Ella from an alley, where she had been attacked and incurred a severe concussion.  When Ella opens her eyes and gazes into his, a bond is formed that ties them tightly together.  Is he really all that he seems to be or is there an alternative reason that he is helping her?  After all he is beautiful, sexy, rich and lives in a castle in Italy! Who is he really? Can Ella trust him to keep her safe and to help her regain her memory?
