Interview with Author Tillie Cole

Tillie, thank you for taking the time to chat with us over at Twin Sisters Rockin’ Book Reviews today.  We are excited to have you here, so let's get started.

What’s your inspiration for your books?
Lots of things inspire me really. Sweet Home was out of my love for a U.S. southern accent, a bad boy and my love of American Football. Molly loved Religious Philosophy in that novel, as do I, the rest of the story just flowed.
For It Ain’t Me, Babe, it was much more meaningful to me. I worked closely, during university, with survivors of Cults/New Religious Movements and I wanted to use their testimonies for inspiration and write an exciting book, but one that addresses a real-life, and sometimes, a forgotten issue that’s happening in the world. I have a series of YA book coming up next year that were inspired by an episode in history too. I love to write about meaningful topics.
What’s your favorite book?
Pride and Prejudice! To me, it’s perfection. A strong female and a hot, moody male. What’s not to love??? Mr. Darcy is the ultimate and ORIGINAL book boyfriend!
What’s your favorite character from your books?
Argh! I don’t know! I can never choose. They’re like my babies and you can never choose between those! Most of my readers adore Rome (From Sweet Home/Rome), but I think he’ll get some stiff completion from Styx and Rider from It Ain’t Me, Babe!
Have you always wanted to write?
Nope. I wanted to sing. I trained in musical theatre for most of my life and always thought I would go down that route. But like most things in life, it did not pan out for various reasons. I became a teacher of Religion and History and moved around the world with my husband and always thought I’d stay in education. Last year however, I began writing for fun, channeling my creativity in a whole different way, and after some encouragement from my best friend and my family, released my novels and I haven’t looked back since….
What do you feel is your biggest success?
Sweet Home will always be the novel that changed my life. When I pressed publish, I did not expect the incredible response, not in my wildest dreams. That novel changed my life and allowed me to make writing a full time career. I cannot WAIT for you to read the stories I have planned for the future.
Any new projects you are working on?
Lots! I have the rest of the Sweet Home series coming out this year, a new hilarious rom-com and then all my focus will be on a YA trilogy I have been secretly working on. There’s lots to come in the world of Tillie Cole!!!
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to answer our questions.  We look forward to all your new projects!

About the Author

Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
