"It might have been three years since she'd touched his bare skin, but her body remembered the markers, the paths, the man. Oh how she remembered the man..."
"She loved to watch his mind work, along with the force of his body, as he studied the crime scene."
"God he loved her. Nothing she'd ever done or said had been to put him down. She'd only been protecting herself from her own insecurities. He'd done the same by believing the words from his childhood that he wasn't good enough. The hell with that. He was damn good. Good enough to fight to save her any way he had to. Whatever the situation called for today, Marcy would survive or he'd die trying. That simple. Raw and brutal. No regrets."
The destined couple grabbed me from the beginning. Marriage counselor, Marcy Bradley is a feisty character, but with so many regrets and fears. She shoved out the one good thing in her life three years ago and has longed to recapture and reclaim JB Bradley, her husband. Jean Bernard Bradley, better known as JB, wrestles with criminals opposite the law everyday as an FBI agent. The only regret he has is that the one person he needs the most, can't handle his lifestyle as a lawman.
What a wonderful love story, filled with passion, regrets, suspense, love and most of all peace. From the beginning I was intrigued by the scenario that was playing out as a bank robbery in a small town USA. Everything turns topsy turvy and the story most certainly takes many twists and turns. It is apparent the chemistry between the couple from the beginning when JB comes back to town in the middle of the bank robbery stand off. Their love reignites that ever burning flame and they quickly realize that life means nothing without the other. A roller-coaster of suspense and a good thriller as well. I enjoyed this book greatly. Well done Claudia. It appears that a sequel could be in play. I look forward to reading the next book...Grēta
