Wish Upon a Tiger by A.T. Mitchell

A BBW Weretiger Shifter Romance

NOTHING SEVERS FATED MATES. NOT EVEN DESTINY ITSELF.

Jenna Argo never imagined she'd see Alaska for the first time as a prisoner. A ruthless treasure hunter's plot to use the curvy half-blood tigress as bait means a tragic first contact with her own kind.

Good thing Erik Nordclaw is smarter than human evil. Wild, strong, and deeply protective, this Alpha tiger shifter protects everything he claims. As soon as he lays eyes on the voluptuous angel, he knows saving Jenna won't be enough. Erik won't be satisfied until she's settled in his village and his bed.

Under her handsome savior's watch, everything makes sense for the first time in Jenna's life. A man to love and a place to call home are finally in claw's reach.

Then a devastating prophecy changes everything. Jenna's bloodline is cursed, and its Erik's job to convince her otherwise, no matter how much a sinister scheme seems to confirm her dark fate.

Will determined Erik prove she's his fated mate, or will Jenna's prophecy doom him and all of Tiger Tree?

Note: This 38,000+ word BBW shifter romance contains love, war, and language that'll make a tiger growl. Dig your claws in. It's gonna be a wild ride.

Overall Rating:  4 Rockin’ ★★★★

When you are a half-breed tiger shifter that has never been around other shifters you learn not to trust.  Jenna learns the hard way not to trust people when she is betrayed by her friend a college professor.  He takes Jenna captive, drugs her and transports her to Alaska.  Yes, Alaska, where the last free tiger shifters live in peace without outside interference.  Jenna is used as bait to trap the other tigers.

Truthfully, I’d never met another of my kind.  I had no idea what other tigers were like, but I hoped they weren’t the instinct blinded beasts’ professor claimed.

Jenna is rescued by a group of tiger shifters led by their Alpha, Erik. She is taken to their village where she is given food, clothing and shelter.  Jenna is afraid of what they will do when it is discovered that she is a half-breed.  Will they still welcome her into their home? Plus, she is really attracted to the Alpha and he seems to return the interest.

“We came to help you.  I followed your scent, but I knew something was wrong the very second I laid eyes on you.  We chased the humans off.  You've got nothing to worry about now."

In every Eden there is a snake and in Tiger Tree the Alpha’s cousin is the evil that threatens all.  His jealousy, envy and evil actions set events in motion that will change Tiger Tree forever.

“Hey! Who is that prick?” she asked excitedly as we stepped into the forest.  I didn’t answer until we were out of earshot. “My cousin, Rufus.  He’s always been an a$$hole.  It’s nothing against you.” “Stay away from him,” I growled. “He’s always had a problem with me since we were cubs.  It only got worse after I was appointed Alpha.  Rufus has some serious ego quirks he’s never had the balls to own up to.”

Unknown to both Erik and Jenna a curse was placed on Jenna’s family.  When Erik takes her to visit the Elder, he explains to her about her father.

“Her destiny, already written in the blood of her past.  Nothing under the sun is new, my boy.  A life borne in tragedy, poised between two worlds like hers can only beget more darkness.  More bloodshed.  She is cursed.”

Jenna’s unselfishness is the key to cleansing and removing the curse from Tiger Tree.  True love and loyalty shine true throughout this story.

“The blood of her ancestors, human and tiger alike,” Brahm answered before Jenna could. “The girl has been touched by the God Tiger.  She carries his blood and his accursed treasure.  The very same as I.”

When Tiger Tree is betrayed and Jenna captured; her faith in Erik is put to the test.

Cliffhanger: No

Would I recommend this book: Yes! This book tells a story that is so different from previously read shifter novels.  The Alaskan Wilderness as the location and the fact that the government has a treaty with the tiger sifters really makes this an unusual situation.

Would I read other books by this author: Yes! It will be interesting to see if the author continues to spin a different take on the paranormal world.
