John “Johnnie” Donovan is determined to make his relationship work with Kendall Miller, the attorney he met during his cousin’s birthday party. Before he can move on with his future, however, he still has loose ends to tie up from the past in the person of a rival MC’s president who is also Kendall’s ex-boyfriend. As Johnnie tries to balance his club life and personal life, another tragedy forces him to make a choice between the two. Will Johnnie be able to live with the choices he makes?
Kendall Miller is trying to pick up the pieces of her life in the wake of her ex-boyfriend’s assault. She’s ready to move on with her life and the man of her dreams, the sexy VP of the Death Dwellers MC. She demands his complete attention and isn’t willing to share her man with all the baggage of the MC. She doesn’t want to be an afterthought to him nor does she want to live her life in the midst of the clubhouse, especially with the competition taking place between Kendall and the club president’s wife. Then, catastrophe strikes and Kendall’s life is once again altered. Can she and Johnnie have a future together or has their love been doomed from the beginning?

Overall Rating:  4 Rockin’ ★★★★

Johnnie is the VP for the powerful Death Dwellers MC.  He has finally found someone that he wants to have a future with and that can help him leave his torrid past behind.  It seems like for every step they take forward they are forced to take five back!  Kendall has issues with Meggie the Prez wife and it is causing tension between Johnnie and Outlaw. Her insecurities about her own worth is slowly destroying the relationship they are trying to build.  Will the conflict between Kendall and Meggie force Johnnie to leave his family?

Kendall feels unworthy of Johnnie because she has always been last with everyone.  Johnnie is smart, beautiful, sexy and everything that a woman could want, why would he want someone like her.   Her own mother seemed to only care for her daughter, Caroline and to loathe Kendall. Her mother even took her own life when she found out about Caroline’s kidnapping.  Now it seems like Johnnie is putting the club before her and she wants to be his everything, the center of his world.

Will Kendall’s insecurities tear them apart?  Can Johnnie protect her and convince her that his feelings are true?  When catastrophe strikes can they weather the storm together? When you read this book be prepared for the heart wrenching brutality of life in the MC world for those that live in it.

Would I recommend this book: Yes! This series needs to be read in order to truly understand the author’s intent but can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.  It is filled with hot MC bikers and feisty women that know how to handle them.

Would I recommend this author: Yes! Reading books by this author is like traveling into another world.  This is a MC world that is inhabited by bikers and their unorthodox families.  Kathryn Kelly is an author that writes about that world and allows the reader to be a part of it.
