** Spoiler/Fair Warning **
The romance winds up in a permanent threesome

Overall rating: 5 Rockin’ ★★★★★

Tremaine rescues Liz from an abusive situation at the hands of Sinclair McCallister.  Tremaine had been sent to investigate Sinclair McCallister by his superiors and stumbled across evil incarnate!  McCalllister had enslaved, beat and raped Liz, an eleven year old child.  His sinister purpose was to steal her magic for his own use as he had done to other innocents.

A scream echoed from the next room. Tremaine ran into the hall. There was another shrill cry, this one full of pain as child yelled, “No, stop.”

With the help of Tremaine, Liz is healed and placed with a friend’s family.  She meets Robert and he becomes her protector and friend.  Liz magic is strong and she learns quickly and is moved forward to a more advance class where she forms bond with Robert and his friend Preston. The three become an Enforcer team, training under Tremaine after graduation.  Robert and Liz marry and everything should have been happily ever after, but evil has a way of finding good.

Tears ran down his face as he stared at her words.  He knew James had hurt her, but their baby?  He could hardly breathe.  The blood, the way she clutched at her stomach, it all made sense now.

Tremaine, Robert and Liz are reunited to fight an evil awakened.  James is coming after Liz. It is no longer Robert and Liz, it is now Tremaine, Robert and Liz! Three lovers joined together as one.

“Someone always wants you, Liz” Tremaine squeezed her shoulders tight. “Two of us.  No matter what,” Robert promised.

Questions are answered about Liz, her parents and how she ended up with Sinclair McCallister.  Healing takes place for three wounded hearts.

He turned slowly and forced a smile. “I do.  Good news in fact. Your daughter is alive and well.  You’ve even met her, and will be working with he soon.”

Overall Rating:  4.25 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

In the beginning I really thought I was looking forward to a funny romantic type story.  Although, as I began to delve into the book, it took me to so many different emotional places that I was laughing and crying all at the same time.  There was so much passionate turmoil between the characters that I hurt and loved right along with them.

Levi "Leaves" Andrews, all american college athlete, is a beautiful character inside and out.  I could feel the love, pain and conviction that he has in everything he does and everyone he loves.  Because of a fatal accident his life changes and he finds himself working as a maintenance man for a family owned inn.  The same family of one Pixie Marshall.  Sarah "Pixie" Marshall has been hurt by her mother all her life, but has always had her "other" family to make up for the pain.  That same fatal accident leaves Pixie alone and totally miserable.  But fate steps in a year after the accident and her path is thrown into line with the one man she has loved all her life, Leaves.

I could literally not stop reading this book until I was finished.  I was so entranced and had to know how it was going to end.  After finishing it, I was left feeling so many things; sadness, happiness, but most of all complete love.  I thoroughly cherish the characters and the story.  Well played Chelsea Fine!  I can't wait to read more from you...Grēta

Favorite Lines:

"She'd changed a bit over the years.  Still a classic beauty, with a great smile, cute upturned nose, and kissable lips."

"The online Urban Dictionary made more sense.  Wanting to be together and when you're not, that person is all you can think about.  Trusting someone with your life, your secrets, your every breath.  To have someone accept you, as you are.  To place the other person's needs before your own.  To feel the inexplicable need to show affection and devotion to each other.  The description was lovely."

"She was innocent of guile.  Some guys might cringe at the thought.  To his way of thinking, each new experience with him was guaranteed to be a shared first.  No one to compare him to.  And she'd definitely be fun to teach so many things."

"She became Cinderella on her way to the ball.  Only better.  This was real not some fairytale."

"Life was finally smiling down on her."

"I don't know where we'll go from here.  All I know is I plan to enjoy the ride."

What a great story.  I laughed practically throughout the whole book.  I can honestly say that this was a first for me.  The characters were very well developed.  Sabrina Thompson is an editor of the beauty aids column of the magazine Skin Deep.  She is a vivacious, yet very naive young woman.  Her witty sense of humor and beautiful soul is captivating from the beginning.  She has never had a steady boyfriend and longs to be loved.  Sabrina's secret fantasies all include one man.  Trent Wellington, insanely rich playboy, is a twin who is pretending to be that said brother twin as the new editor and chief of Skin Deep magazine.  Trent has realized from a previous meet that he is captivated with a Miss Sabrina Thompson.  Posing as his twin brother, Trent finds himself in a very precarious position, falling in love.  From the facial masks that won't come off, to the many restaurants, XXX novelty shops, florists and candy boutiques, the couple dive into their research to create a spectacular column to help save the magazine.

I could totally relate with Sabrina and all of her niceties.  She is an extraordinary individual, who I just absolutely loved!  My heart was also captured by the wayward ways of Trent, through his relentless pursuits and over the top loyalty.  This couple showed me again how much fun love is and can be when you find the right person!  Way to go, Deb.  You hit a home run...Grēta

  About CD Reiss CD Reiss
CD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up, she’s at the well, hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did embed TV story structure in her head well enough for her to take a big risk on a TV series structured erotic series called Songs of Submission. It’s about a kinky billionaire hung up on his ex-wife, an ingenue singer with a wisecracking mouth; art, music and sin in the city of Los Angeles. Critics have dubbed the books “poetic,” “literary,” and “hauntingly atmospheric,” which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she’s some sort of braggart who’s too good to give the toilets a once-over every couple of weeks or chop a cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Third Degree by Julie Cross

Fans of Monica Murphy and Tammara Webber will savor this New Adult novel—a story about coming of age in the heat of the moment—from Julie Cross, the internationally bestselling author of the Tempest trilogy.

I used to be “Isabel Jenkins, child prodigy.” As lame as that sounds, at least it was an identity. But now I’m not sure what I am. I just failed the most important exam of my life—the emotional readiness test required to get into a medical residency program—and it turns out my parents can’t stand each other. Now I’m trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces of my life, and that means re-enrolling as a college freshman, but this time I’m shutting the books and majoring in being eighteen.

But so far, my roommate hates me and I’m not into the party scene. The only good thing about school has been getting to know my insanely hot RA. Marshall Collins makes me wonder about everything I missed while I was growing up too fast. Pretty soon we’re hanging out constantly, but for the first time, I find myself wanting more than a no-strings-attached physical relationship. And the lesson I really need is one Marsh definitely can’t teach me: love. Because I’m going to be alone forever if I don’t learn fast.

Third Degree written by Julie Cross gives a new twist on the harsh reality of one young girl's ambitions to become a doctor and the inexperience she has with connecting to others around her. Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ ★☆

I USED TO WRITE LONG suicide letters, but I don’t see the point in it anymore.  If I’m going to leave this world a better place, I don’t want to leave behind a ten-page letter detailing all my emotional baggage.  Besides, most of the people who know me, the ones close enough to read the letter already know how screwed up I am.
Mikki wants to die.  She is tired of being bullied by others and not listened too.  No one understands how she feels and why she feels the way she does. She has one friend, no boyfriend, does not leave her house and only her sister seems to care about her.  Her parents love her but don’t understand her. She is lost and alone.
He hangs his coat on the back of the chair and sits across from me.  He stares at my hands for a few seconds before he looks up. “Do we know each other?”
Crush cannot forget the night that the darkness almost took his life.  The night he was ready to commit suicide.  The night he saved a young girl that had been brutally attacked and almost beaten to death.  From the moment he saw her ravaged and bloody he was saved.
The girl who saved my life.  The girl I killed for.  The girl I’d give my life for.  She loves me and all the blackness inside me.
Fate had intervened and given them the opportunity to cross paths again.  Will fear deny them a future? Will they find answers in the Black Box?
Fear is crippling.  Fear of the future can convince us that there is no way out and nothing is ever going to get better.  Fear is blinding; it can make us miss the warning signs flashing right in front of our eyes.  It can also make you miss those brilliant flashes of color, when the world isn’t so gray. But, if you think about it, being afraid isn’t such a bad thing.  Because fear is a reminder that you still have something to lose.  Something worth holding onto.

Teased (The VIP Room #1) by Jamie Begley

“Here comes Trouble!” Colton took one look at the stripper on stage and knew that was exactly what Vida was, trouble. He had no desire to succumb to the young woman tantalizing men with her provocative movements and killer body with no intention of satisfying their fantasies. Fresh out of prison, his tattoo shop and getting rid of an aggravating ex were his first priorities, not a woman who should know better than to become involved in a situation that could get her killed.

Vida will do anything to save her friend’s life, even if it includes stripping on stage and doing lap dances in the VIP room under her stage name Trouble. All the sensuous moves were just an illusion to gain the information she needed, even if it meant the men who watched thought she would keep the promises her body was making.

Forced to sift through lies and betrayals, Colton discovers a woman who is as loving as she is loyal, but won’t give him a chance. Vida, who tries to ignore the escalating passion between them, learns the hard way that some men shouldn’t be teased…

"The only man that is going to be between your thighs is me.  I am going to take that sweet little cherry of yours and make it mine."

Teased is the first book in Jamie Begley's new series The VIP Room.  This is a fast-moving, action-packed story full of sit-on-the-seat of your couch drama.  Vida is a gorgeous, sweet, smart heroine that you can’t help liking.  Colton is the sexy, biker-tattoo artist who has just been released from prison for serving a crime he didn't commit.  There isn’t an instant chemistry between Vida and Colton.  Their relationship develops as Colton realizes how precious Vida truly is.  The ending is not a cliff hanger, but you are definitely left grasping anxiously in search of the next book.  I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what happens next to these characters.

According to Hayley love is a subject of ridicule, a myth created by hopeless romantics.

When Hayley makes a resolution to declare her loose lifestyle era R.I.P, it’s all good in theory…

Both Hayley and Daniel can’t avoid the immediate instigation of the attraction between them.

“Have you lost your words now, do you need a moment?”
This is the first book in a two part series by Sigal Ehrlich.  I thoroughly enjoyed this book.  Its characters and plot are well established and the ending leaves you begging for the next book.

Daniel Stark is the CEO of Stark Software Technologies, Inc.  “He’s intriguing and charming in a bad boy kind of way”.  He does not do relationships, but find Haley fascinating.  He actively begins to pursue her wanting to know her better.
“I am not letting anyone f@() me at their own will and appointed time.” Saying that, he points his index finger at me and mouths, “You,” then bobs his head in approval, mouthing “can.” A wicked smirk appears on his handsome face.”
Haley J. Grace is a college graduate.  “She is sweet, witty, beautiful and intelligent.”  She thinks Daniel's mood swings are more like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and refers to him as "Mr. Psycho" often.

The couple has an instant chemistry together.  The relationship they begin to form is interesting because neither one is self-confident in the relationship department.  Both only acknowledge how strong their feelings are for each other.  There are many obstacles the couple faces; dealing with their past and opposite lifestyles is a major hurdle.
Hales,” he purrs quietly with closed eyes, his nose grazing my flesh. “I am so yours, more than I’ve ever been mine.”
The ending wasn’t a happy ever after one but I’m hopeful that these two will have an HEA in the next book.  Overall, this was a great read.  It was sexy and exciting read but not over the top.  Great beginning to the series!

Breathe (Sea Breeze #1) by Abbi Glines

In the shore town of Sea Breeze, Sadie discovers that fame is nothing in the face of passion. A steamy read from bestselling author Abbi Glines.

Sadie White’s summer job is at the beach, but she won’t be working as a lifeguard. Since her mom is pregnant and refuses to work, Sadie will be taking over as a domestic servant for a wealthy family on a nearby island.

When the family arrives at their summer getaway, Sadie is surprised to learn that the owner of the house is Jax Stone, one of the hottest teen rockers in the world. If Sadie were normal—if she hadn’t spent her life raising her mother and taking care of the house—maybe she’d be excited about working for a rock star. But she’s not.

Even though Sadie isn’t impressed by Jax’s fame, he is drawn to her. Everything about Sadie fascinates Jax, but he fights his attraction: Relationships never work in his world, and as badly as he wants Sadie, he believes she deserves more. Yet as the summer stretches on, Jax’s passion leaves him breathless—and Sadie feels like the only source of oxygen.

Can their love overcome the disparity in their lifestyles? One breath at a time, they’re going to find out…

Overall rating: 4 Rockin' ★★★★

I have to admit, being a complete lover of Abbi Glines’ Rosemary Beach series, I was timid about starting the Sea Breeze series.  I wasn’t sure that I could make the transition from the characters that I had grown to love.  Honestly, it took me about a third of the book “Breathe” and I was completely hooked into another world from this fabulous author.  I loved how she developed ALL of the relationships in this book.  I felt like I was a part of it all.

Sadie White was an ordinary girl with a sheltered life.  She spent her life going unnoticed and taking care of her mother.  She had to work in order for the two of them to be able to pay the bills and eat.  When her mother felt she could no longer work, Sadie took her job as a servant for a well-known teen rock star!

“He stole my breath away the moment we first spoke. He's my air.”

“I would imagine in your world, girls are much different than here in the real world. I’m sure if you spent some time with the everyday girl, you would find I am not unique.”

Jax was the most famous teen rock star in the world and for the summer, all he wanted was to escape the limelight and retreat to his private home in Sea Breeze, AL.  No distractions, no paparazzi, no girls……seclusion and relaxation with his family!  That was all he wanted, until he saw Sadie for the first time.

“You're everything I write about in songs, but can never have."

“You're ever song I have ever sung. I'll never let anything hurt you again. For the first time in my life, my dreams aren't about me. They're about you."

This story is about two people from different worlds learning their place in each other’s lives.  They know that it is only for the summer and couldn’t possibly last past that….but how and when do they say goodbye, and can they actually do that?  I was swept up in their story!  There were twists and turns and ups and downs throughout the book that kept me wondering and hoping that they would make it past the summer!!...Amber

Blue Lines is book four in the Assassins hockey team series by Toni Aleo. This is Piper and Erik's story and it’s beautifully written.  I love a good sports romance especially when you have the beautiful sexy hockey players from the Nashville Assassins team.  Even as fictional characters – they stand out.  Erik is the typical man-whore that you loath to hate.  He likes his lifestyle and doesn’t want to change for anyone.  Piper is the sweet heroine that is left after one night with Erik.  This book has drama and angst – uncertainly for the future together as a couple.  The overall story has your emotions scattered all over the couch – pain, jealously, insecurity, desire, need, wanting and love.  I highly recommend this book.  It fits seamlessly into the series, and I look forward to the next book!

Come Undone is the first book in Madelynne Ellis’ new series Rock Hard.  The cover and summary for this book had me hooked even before I opened the pages.  I couldn’t wait to read it.  Overall, this book was a huge disappointment to me.  I was prepared for the drama and angst, the ups and downs, twists and turns, but once again I was saddened!  The characters needed more development and the plot was not defined.  The ending of this book dropped me over a 50’ cliff and I splattered the emotional ground screaming and kicking wanting more…no needing more.  Will I read the next one in this series? I’m open to second chances...Flo

Flirting with Disaster is the third book in Ruthie Knox’s Camelot series, and after reading the first two, I was intrigued to see how the author would develop Sean and Katie’s story.  This story met all my expectations—it was hilarious, romantic, sexy—and an all-around great romance novel.

Sean is sexy, sweet and shy when it comes to Katie.  He’s shared a crush on her since high school.  Katie is a feisty, gutsy, out-going gal that has returned home from a broken marriage to heal.  Together the couple is absolutely perfect!  The chemistry is undeniable.  Awesome characters from the past and the future and an interesting plot, leaves you with a satisfying feeling.  In conclusion, the author delivers a happily ever after for Sean and Katie!  I look forward to the next book in this series.

WARNING: This book contains best friends with attitude, blind dates, the reckless use of explosives and a hero that gives new meaning to the term "in the closet". Did I mention this is a really sexy book? Just saying...

Overall Rating:  4 Rockin’ ★★★★

All I need is You is book four in the Alexanders series by M. Malone.  This was the first book I read by this author and it won’t be the last.  This is a mystery/suspense novel, and I totally enjoyed every page of this book.  I traveled through this book feeling a gamut of emotions:  hurt, embarrassment, despair, anger, love, joy, and happiness.

The characters are fun, sexy and realistic; there were moments when I felt connected to them--like I knew them.   Kaylee Wilhelm is “single mother with a demanding singing career” who makes the mistake of falling for Elliott Alexander, the owner of Alexander Security Incorporated.  Elliott is troubled from his past and builds road blocks around his emotions for Kaylee.  After Kaylee’s life is threatened, she has the chance to prove to Elliott that she is his one.

In the end, I loved the story and would recommend this book to anyone looking for a happily ever after ending jam-packed with lots of steamy love and intrigue…this book is for you!

From This Day Forward: Dragon Shifters of Derkesthai Academy by Mackenzie Lucas

From This Day Forward is the second story in the Derkesthai Academy Dragon Shifter series--a hot contemporary paranormal romance series with mystery and suspense elements where dragon shifters hunt a magickal hoard thief who threatens to bring down the entire dragon mage race. In the small town of Mystic Springs, only love and betrayal can show true character and the best signs are those hidden. Join April and Noah as they fight an unidentified evil who threatens everything they value.

Noah Easton, a Special Forces dragon shifter, escapes the torture of a hoard thief bent on stealing dragon hoard stones and their elemental power from the mages who possess them, but the situation becomes personal when the hoard thief targets April, the woman he loves. He must return to his hometown of Mystic Springs to protect his own hoard from a magickal threat he cannot identify before he loses everything.

April is a modern day oracle. She reads tea leaves and just about anything else that can predict coming events. However, past abandonment issues make her resistant to reading her own signs. But when evil comes to Mystic Springs, April must face her biggest fears of abandonment and betrayal in order to save what’s most important to her. Only by studying the past and owning her future can she stop a magickal criminal who threatens to steal everything she’s ever loved and destroy the one dragon mage who holds her heart always and forever.

Overall rating:  ★ Rockin’

April and Noah are soul mates.  They live in a magical town with their three daughters and April’s grandmother. April is an oracle and Noah is a dragon. While April runs a teahouse and cares for their children, Noah is a special forces captain.
April’s special gift was tasseography reading tea leaves-although most forms of divination came easily to her.  So of everyone in her family, she was considered the most well-rounded, the oracle-the one who could pull the full picture together to read all the signs-even those not visible.
While on a mission Noah is betrayed by a member of his team and is turned over to the enemy.  He is tortured and interrogated by an agent called the Fox. His missing in action was reported to his wife.
Dragon bred, born, and trained…his sense of sight, scent, and hearing were well beyond the human norm and made the bed.
Noah escapes and returns to his family.  He is there to protect them from the rogue dragon that is killing dragons and their families to steel their heart stones. April knows it is time for Noah to stay with his family.
Choose me.  The tiny voice clamored, echoing in her heart…searing the scarred tissue of her soul again.
April must choose to trust with her heart and soul.  When their daughters and her grandmother are taken captive by the Fox they must use that trust to save their them.
I’m yours.  Always. Trust me, the dragon spoke, a rough whisper.  Not out loud, but through her mind.  Sure. Gentle. Commanding.
Once again good triumphs or evil and the good guys win.
“April, I need you to relax, honey.  Everything is going to be fine. Trust me.”

Overall Rating:  5 Rockin

Dazed is the next book in Kim Karr’s Connections series.  This story was exquisitely written by a very talented author.  Even though this is a novella, it is complete with angst, drama and love.  The characters are well developed.  You feel the joy, turmoil, and the beginning of a deep love.

Jagger Kennedy, River Wilde’s cousin, is a model described as "sin on a stick" with a free spirit.  Aerie Daniels is Dahlia’s best friend and a workaholic at Sound Music Magazine.  Aerie and Jagger are perfect together.  Their chemistry is instant from the moment he is tagged the “cupcake thief.”

This book fits effortlessly within this series.  We catch up with old characters and fall in love with new ones.  In short, this is an amazing story!  Once again, Kim Karr has brilliantly delivered a work of art.  I really enjoyed this book, and look forward to the next book!

No Refuge by Annie Nicholas

Hunted to near extinction by an alien race called the Ko, my people have run from Earth and drifted so far among the stars we can’t remember the way back. We live everywhere, but call nowhere home. The Ko want us erased from existence and memory. They don’t even want our DNA in the space dust. Humans disguise themselves as other alien species and hide in plain sight. It’s the only way we can survive.

I believe in the myth of Earth. I’ve even discovered a bona fide book written in the dead language of my people. My man, Brody, dreams of a secret human colony. He’s searched for years, hunting any rumor we’ve run across, and finally he’s made contact. Usually, he’s the one grounding me to station and keeping my head out of the atmosphere. Time for me to return the favor…that is, if I can ditch the Ko who’ve discovered me, thanks to my incessant artifact-hunting. If we don’t make our rendezvous, and the Ko don’t kill me, Brody just might…

CONTENT WARNING: Aliens, cargo ships, and a fast paced race against all odds.

Overall rating:  Rockin' ★

Lucy and Brody have a major problem, they are human and their species has been hunted to the point of extinction by a race called the Ko.  In order to stay hidden from the Ko they must disguise themselves as another race. Lucy and Brody travel as Jurranians.
The Ko wanted us erased from existence and memory.  Some said they didn’t want human DNA in the space dust.
The Ko had destroyed our home planet Earth.  We have become a vagabond race, scattered throughout the known universe.  Always hiding, afraid of being discovered and put to death by the Ko and their allies.
Living on the run since the day we were born had toughened my race over the centuries.  We lived everywhere, yet nowhere was home. At a moment’s notice, all could be lost.  We loved hard and fought dirty.  We’d become survivalists.
All surviving humans are searching for a hidden colony of survivors!  Brody uncovers a possible source that will lead them to this hidden colony.
“There’s something you ought to know.   A Ko got ahold of me earlier in the bowels of the station and I kicked his helmet off.  He hit me hard.” I pointed to my split lip. “I spat my blood in his face.”  “I took a shaky breath as the words spilled out of me.  Who knew how important this information could be? But other humans needed to know.  “My blood burned his flesh.  I watched it melt his skin.”
Could human blood be the answer?  The reason the Ko have hunted humans.  Will Lucy and Brody find a safe harbor? Can they find a place where they can live unafraid and have a family?
I took a deep breath.  “We’re not dreaming.”
He glanced over his shoulder at me. “I want to meet the human Lucille.”
