Dash of Peril by Lori Foster

A no-nonsense female cop reluctantly teams up with the one man who makes her lose control in a deliciously sensual new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster...

To bring down a sleazy abduction ring, Lieutenant Margaret "Margo" Peterson has set herself up as bait. But recruiting Dashiel Riske as her unofficial partner is a whole other kind of danger. Dash is 6'4" of laid-back masculine charm, a man who loves life—and women—to the limit. Until Margo is threatened, and he reveals a dark side that may just match her own.

Beneath Margo's tough facade is a slow-burning sexiness that drives Dash crazy. The only way to finish this case is to work together side by side…skin to skin. And as their mission takes a lethal turn, he'll have to prove he's all the man she needs—in all the ways that matter.

"Margo couldn't deny that it felt good to be near a man, this man, soaking up his heat, hearing the husky timbre of his voice, feeling the restrained power innate in all good men."  "God he tasted good, like a man should."

"Dash cupped her chin, marveling again that a woman so strong could be so sweet and soft."

"What happened to her lethal edge?  But she already knew.  Sexy, controlling Dashiel Riske had happened.  Would she ever again be the same?"

"In so many ways, he touched her heart, made her feel special and...loved."

Lori Foster has intrigued me yet again.  Lieutenant Margret Peterson or Margo, trapped me with her awesomeness.  With her beautiful looks, ever present confidence and badass persona she is a woman most men would shy away from or be intimidated by.  Hard core to the bone, just the kind of character to get enthralled with.  She has a hidden side to her, one that every woman desires in some way...the need for someone to dominate her.  Then there is Dashiel Riske.  He is the owner of a construction company, rich, worldly, yet a humble manly man.  I was instantly drawn to his sex appeal and loyalty.  Their story is a stormy one, that kept me wanting more and anxious until the end.  Their hot steamy romance made me feel good, as well as the action that kept me on the edge.  In the end this book is a great read!   ght
