Review of Smokejumpers 2 Werebear: Bear Shifters by Kim Fox

Part two of the Smokejumpers: Werebear series. This bear shifter romance can be read as a standalone (HEA and no cliffhanger!)

Flirty and sexy BBW, Amanda Pike, has taken a new job as a pilot in Montana for the Hudson Crew. She is shocked to find that not only are these big, burly, sexy smokejumpers a crew of werebears but that the hot alpha of the crew has seemed to have bonded strongly to her.

Alpha of the Hudson Crew, Beckett Jacoby, is torn. Every shifter knows that an alpha can’t take on a mate. It makes a bear soft, weak and careless and can tear even the most cohesive crew apart. But when his bear bonds with the new pilot living in his camp he can’t seem to follow even his own rules.

Tensions rise around camp as the alpha begins neglecting his duties, choosing passion over responsibility. But when Beckett goes too far he not only risks losing his alpha position but his whole crew all together.

Overall Rating:  4 Rockin’ ★★★★
Here we go again, visiting those sexy werebear shifters in Smokejumpers Book Two by Kim Fox.  This is Amanda and Beckett's search for a happy median where their relationship can be acknowledged by the clan.  Alphas are not allowed to take a mate, due to the fact it makes them weak. However, Beckett knew after seeing her picture, Amanda belonged to him.

Beckett is the alpha of his clan and he runs a tight but fun crew.  He was born to lead and leads by example.  But it gradually becomes harder for Beckett to concentrate on his role when he is continually flooded with Amanda’s smell and her sexual need. His bear wants its mate!

Amanda is the new pilot for the Hudson Crew.  She can fly anything, is funny, enjoys being with the crew and knows about shifters. Her talents include, fixing their current plane and seducing the alpha.  From their first meeting, Amanda knew there was something happening between them.

Beckett and Amanda's journey is exciting and enjoyable.  The bears in the clan are hilarious with their jokes and diverse personalities that add dimension to the short novella.  I enjoyed returning to the familiarity of the bears and learning more about Ellis and Alexi's story which was in the first book of the series.
