~Review: Up In Flames by Lori Foster~

Body Heat

The last person Melanie Tucker wants to find herself trapped with on a party boat is her nemesis, Adam Stone. As always, he's too smooth…and a bit too sexy for comfort. But when they both fall overboard—and wind up stranded together—Melanie just can't resist all the delicious body heat smoldering between them….

Caught in the Act

When a robbery goes bad, undercover cop Mick Dawson can't believe Delilah Piper (aka mystery writer Lela DeBraye) was just in the wrong place at the wrong time—and neither do the perps. The only way to protect her while he investigates what really happened is to stick with her 24/7—and try not to fall for the object of his investigation!

Overall Rating:  4 Rockin’ ★★★

Body Heat:
Up in Flames: Body Heat is a blast from the past romance that puts both the characters in a very precarious place.  By fate, Melanie Tucker is on a boat at the same time her long ago tormentor from high school, Adam Stone.  However, they both see things very differently.  Adam has worked hard for everything he has, and made a name for himself and his family.  Where as he thinks that Melanie has always been spoon fed anything she ever wanted.  Melanie was always attracted to Adam, although he was from the wrong side of the tracks, he teased and tormented all through school.  But the kicker is, both of them have the wrong impression about the other.  Will being stranded together bring them the peace and resolution that they both so desperately need and desire?  This is a short story, but packs a huge punch!  Way to go, Lori!  I thoroughly enjoyed your vision.  Grēta

Caught in the Act:
Up in Flames:  Caught in the Act was a wonderful story of mystery and romance.  There were many twists and turns, ups and downs which kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire book.  A robbery gone bad, police detective, Mick Dawson saves the woman he's been infatuated with for weeks.  The woman he has yet to meet.  But circumstances being what they are, bring them close together and an ignited romance that neither one can deny.  Delilah Piper, a romance mystery writer, is caught in the middle of criminal activity from all her "research" that she does to inspire her writing.  Never one to pay attention to men, she finds herself drawn to the delectable Mick Dawson and is falling hard and fast when he saves her life.  All of the various personalities in this story were brought to life in such a way that it felt as if I was living amongst them.  The characters were fun and fierce!  They were easily relatable.  I absolutely adored Caught in the Act, with all it's mysteriousness and much appreciated romance. Great job, Lori!  You created a winner again!!!  Grēta
