Book Recommendation & Review of Silver Bastard (Silver Valley #1) by Joanna Wylde

Fourteen months. For fourteen months, Puck Redhouse sat in a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. Then he was free and it was time for his reward—full membership in the club, along with a party to celebrate. That’s when he saw Becca Jones for the first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended he’d violated his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.

Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed Becca and saved her all in one night. She’s been terrified of him ever since, but she’s even more terrified of the monsters he still protects her from... But Becca refuses to let fear control her. She’s living her life and moving forward, until she gets a phone call from the past she can't ignore. She has to go back, and there’s only one man she can trust to go with her—the ex-con biker who rescued her once before.

Puck will help her again, but this time it’ll be on his terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really wants...

Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

Silver Bastard is the first book in the Silver Valley series.  This new series is by New York Times bestselling author Joanna Wylde.  It picks up at the end of Reaper's Stand, where the two clubs work together on a joint mission and Puck and Painter are sent to jail for possession of firearms.  For fourteen months, Puck endures lock up, interrogations and lack of freedom. The only way he survived, was the knowledge that he would earn his patch and become a full brother of the Silver Bastards MC. His only plan was to get drunk and laid, whichever came first, and it really didn’t matter.  What he had not expected was Becca!

Becca was in a situation that where the people that should protect her, didn’t.  They added to the abusive lifestyle that she was forced to live in!  Her mother, stepfather and the Longneck MC that they hung around used her anyway they wanted to. Basically she was pimped out and used as a prostitute by her stepfather at the age of sixteen. When she met Puck, for the first time in her young life she was treated with care.  Puck had no idea that she was only sixteen and being abused by her stepfather and that he had ordered her to have sex with him.  He rescues Becca from her family and takes her home with him.

Sexual abuse can leave a lasting impression on anyone, especially someone as young as Becca.  Even with his protection and help, she still fears Puck after five years.  He is always in the background, making sure she is safe.  Her life is good she has friends and a job.  She has people that care about her, yet her past will not stay in the past. Will Puck help her move forward and find a future?   Is there a HEA for a bad boy biker and a lost little girl?

Would I recommend this book: Yes! This is a love, hate relationship mixed up with some serious denial from the main characters.  The attraction sizzles between the bad boy biker and the good girl that wants to break out of the mold her family tried to put her in! Love conquers all in this hot read!

Would I recommend this author: Yes! Joanna Wylde is one of my favorite authors. Her books are authentic and brings life to the world of Motorcycle Clubs!  Ms. Wylde’s stories are original and her characters touch the heart and soul of her readers.
