Review of Dragon Fire (The Forbidden Love Series) by Danielle James

Toni thought this would be just like every other Halloween party her family has ever hosted. Until her all-knowing cousin told her that this night would be a life changer. Toni can't help but wonder if it has something to do with the stranger whose face she can't see and smells like heaven...
Dylan just wanted to get out from under his father's thumb for one night. That was when he saw her. She was beautiful, mysterious, and he had to have her. But one night of anonymous passion would never be enough.
His father, a powerful god long forgotten by humans, would never allow it.
Dylan would risk his father's wrath to be with the one woman who could make him complete...

Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

Where do you begin when a paranormal/mythological romance runs the gamut of species, including ancient gods?  You hold on and get ready for an extraordinary read!  In Dragon fire, author Danielle James uses her vidid imagination and knowledge of both to tell a story about two unlikely mates.  Dylan the son of Poseidon and a mermaid, and Toni the daughter of a vampire and a dragon!  Could this get any more decadent?  Of course it can when both main characters are gorgeous, powerful, sexy and in lust/love and don’t realize they are mates.

It’s just another night in the life of Toni and her extended family.  They are holding their annual Halloween party, and everyone that is anyone in the paranormal world will be there, by invitation only. When her cousin tells Toni to be on the look out tonight because her life is about to be changed forever, she never dreamed it would a man that would do the changing.  Dylan snuck into the party and when Toni meets him electricity spikes between them.  After an intense sexual experience he disappears and leaves her wondering about her unidentified lover. How could she have sex with a man she had not even seen, but it was a masked ball after all!

Enough was enough and he was tired of being controlled by his dad. So what if his father was the god, Poseidon?  Dylan was young and needed to have some fun and what better way to get back at his dad than to go to a party on land!  What he had not expected was meeting the beautiful dragon shifter, Toni.  After their encounter he knew it would not be possible to stay away from her, even if his dad demanded he erase her memory of him.  Some way, some how Toni would be his and he would protect her from his father.

This extraordinary read will keep you enthralled and asking what else could go wrong for Toni and Dylan?  Excellent read and fantastic addition to my library.
