Review of Risk It (Rule Breakers #4) by Jennifer Chance

Jennifer Chance’s Rule Breakers series turns up the heat as a wealthy playboy and a beautiful con artist engage in a high-stakes game of seduction.

As dominating in business as he is in bed, Rand Sterling Winston, IV, always gets what he wants. And even before he realizes that she’s scammed him into paying triple the cost for her friend’s painting, he wants Dani Michaels. To catch her alone, Rand demands she personally deliver his purchase. The attraction between them is immediate and electric, and he knows she feels it, too. So when the part-time petty thief rebuffs his advances, he gives her a choice: a night in jail or an evening with him.

Despite her checkered past, Dani has never met someone like Rand: brooding, intense, and oh-so tempting. Only a man with a broken soul could make losing control feel this dangerous. Still, when Rand proposes a no-strings, no-holds-barred affair, Dani’s more than a little intrigued. It’ll be the trickiest con she's ever run and a chance to indulge her steamiest fantasies—nothing more. But as their encounters grow increasingly intimate, Dani uncovers a vulnerable side to Rand’s steely exterior . . . and opens her heart to the ultimate risk.

Overall Rating:  4.25 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

Risk it is book four in the Rule Breakers series, by Jennifer Chance.  From the beginning of the novel, the characters are yet again ostentatious, charismatic, well developed, and everything that is expected from this author.  The plot has many twists and turns that will surprise and give the reader a feeling of erotic pleasure.

Dani Michaels is a con artist and a thief.  Not by choice, but by circumstance.  She has struggled all her life, being thrown from one foster family to another.  Dani is a survivor!  However, even with her harsh beginnings, Dani lives her life to the fullest.  Never too proud to do what's necessary to take care of her brother or help someone in need.  When she meets her latest would-be victim, Rand Sterling Winston IV, Dani's life begins to change.  She becomes the unwanted casualty of her own game.

Rand Sterling Winston IV comes from old money.  He is the head of his family's security company in Boston.  Rand always gets his way, no matter the circumstances and he likes to play games.  His newest interest is Dani Michaels.  She conned Rand into buying a painting and paying way more than it was worth. With his interest piqued, Rand has to have her, dominate her in every way and then let her go.  That's his way, his game to play.  Little does he realize that Dani is more than just his newest conquest, she may be his final game.

The game has begun, the trap set...ready, set, and match!

If you want to read a book that will keep you on your toes to the very end, then this is the book to read!  It can stand alone, so there is no need to read this series in order.  However, because they are all great reads, it would be beneficial to read about all the other characters from the first three Rule Breaker books.  Jennifer Chance is a great author that has a wonderful sense of character development along with her creative story telling.  I enjoyed this installment of the Rule Breakers series.
