Review of Shift Out Of Luck (Bear Bites #1) by Ruby Dixon

There are few things that are off limits to the were-bears of Pine Falls, but humans are one of them. Which is a real pain, because I’ve had it bad for curvy Adelaide Laurent ever since she sashayed into town. The fact that she’s forbidden fruit just makes my fantasies all the sweeter.

But when she signs up to go on a weekend camping trip with the town’s biggest player, it’s time for a bear to step in and claim his mate.

I don’t care if it breaks the rules. She’s mine, and it’s time she knew it.

Overall Rating: 4.25 Rockin’ ★★★★

Ruby Dixon’s latest series, Bear Bites is full of fast-paced paranormal romantic tales.  Shift Out of Luck is the first book in this series and takes place in the small town of Pine Falls.  A place where the townspeople are mostly shifters and their ability to shift is unknown to the humans living amongst them.  The story is told with alternating perspectives from the hero and heroine.  This is Adelaide and Cole’s story and you do not want to miss a moment of their journey.

Adelaide came to Pine Falls three years ago to open a spa.  She has been yearning for Cole since her arrival.  He on the other hand has turned her away time and time again either with his snarky attitude or by ignoring her.  Cole knows that Adelaide is his mate but she’s human and is forbidden to his kind.  When a situation occurs Cole’s animal rises up to claim his mate. Even though he continues to fight the attraction, he cannot let her go.

I enjoyed this quick read with its sexy, bumbling alpha male and spunky woman that refused to take no for an answer.  It kept my attention and pulled me into the lives of the clan in Pine Falls.  This is another fabulous read from Ruby Dixon, and a great addition to my library.
