~Review: Rain Shadow (The Barringer Brothers #1) by Tess Oliver~

Luke Barringer finds himself in the desert near death, unsure of his name and with no recollection of his past. As the hot sun bears down on him, his will to live slips away, but he can't close his eyes. Sleep is the enemy and now it seems he has found his own slice of hell. But through the mist of his agony, a girl's soft voice drifts over him and the sound of it draws him away from the darkness.

While riding her horse, Evangeline "Angel" Sharpe finds a man bloodied and beaten. Despite knowing that she'll be in trouble for bringing him to the Bedlam MC compound, she takes him home to tend his wounds. While the handsome stranger heals, Angel finds herself falling for him. As the mystery of his past is revealed, she helps him struggle with the truth, a truth that will lead to his true identity . . . an identity that could destroy Angel's world.

Overall Rating:  5 Rockin’ ★★★★

He drifts between consciousness and darkness.  He cannot remember his name or how he came to be in the middle of the dessert beaten within an inch of his life. The only memory he has is of an old man dumping him from a truck.  Now all he knows is the pain is unbearable and if he lets go he will not wake up again.  When he hears something move through the brush he fears that whoever dumped him here to die has returned to complete the job.  Only the vision that meets his eyes must be a mirage.  Instead of wild animals to finish him off, standing before him is the most beautiful girl, a girl that could not be real.

Most people who were half dead from thirst dreamt of relief giving springs of water, but I’d conjured up a beautiful girl.  If I was to die anyhow, I preferred my hallucination to the imaginary water supply.

Evangeline cannot believe how badly wounded the man is that she finds in the middle of nowhere.  He is bruised, beaten and barely alive.  She must help him but will taking him with her save him or is it a death warrant?  She can’t leave him and takes him with her to the compound where she lives as part of a motorcycle club.  Her grandfather is the president of the club and doesn’t allow any strangers into the compound.  When she returns with her find, he is immediately taken to the dungeon for interrogation by the club.  But he doesn’t remember anything not even his name.  Evangeline saves him once again from death at the hands of her grandfather’s men and tries to heal him.  He is now a prisoner of the Bedlam MC and only Evangeline stands between him and death. Why does he feel this connection with Evangeline?  Can he remember who he is and what happened?  Will Evangeline be able to heal him and help him find a way out of the compound? ~TSRBR
